The short version: everything about your shooting stays on your phone. Your rifles, loads, zeroes and settings are never sent anywhere. The only data that leaves the device is what Google Play needs to process a Harson Pro purchase, and the record of that purchase, so the app can tell whether you have Pro. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and no advertising.
Privacy policy · Harson Ballistics
Your shooting stays on your phone.
Last updated 2 September 2026. This policy is for the Harson Ballistics Android app, published by Harson Group Pty Ltd (ABN 20 674 654 132, GST registered), trading as Harson.ai. Garage Gym and this website are covered by the main policy.
What stays on your phone
Everything you enter is kept in the app's private storage on your own device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:
- Rifle profiles — scope height, twist rate, zero range, reticle choice
- Bullet and load details, including any bullets you add yourself
- Muzzle velocity truing records
- Environment settings and app preferences
We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. You can export it to a file from inside the app at any time. Because there is no cloud copy today, we cannot restore it for you if you lose or replace your phone.
What is collected, and why
Purchase history. If you buy Harson Pro, Google Play processes the payment under Google's own privacy policy. We never see your card or bank details. The app then records the purchase — the product bought, when it was bought, and whether it is still active — through RevenueCat, a purchase management service that acts as our processor. This is the only information the app sends, and it is sent so the app can unlock Pro, restore it on a new phone, and so that we can respond to a support request about a purchase. It is collected only if you buy something, is encrypted in transit, and is not used for advertising, profiling, or sold to anyone.
An anonymous purchase identifier. To match a purchase to an installation without an account, the app uses a random identifier that RevenueCat generates on the device. It is not linked to your name, email, Google account, or device serial, and we cannot use it to identify you.
That is the full list. We do not collect usage analytics, device identifiers, diagnostics, crash reports, location, contacts, files, or anything from your camera or microphone.
Permissions
Harson Ballistics uses the internet permission solely for the purchase flow described above, and the Google Play billing permission to sell Harson Pro. It requests no location, storage, camera, microphone, or contacts permissions. The calculator itself works entirely offline, and Pro keeps working offline once purchased.
Third parties
- Google Play — distribution and payment processing.
- RevenueCat — purchase verification and entitlement management, as our processor, under a written agreement that limits it to providing that service.
The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking software, and no other third-party software development kits.
Children
Harson Ballistics is a technical tool for sport and hunting shooters, rated for adults. It is not directed at children.
Deleting your data
Everything about your shooting is on your phone: deleting the app deletes it. To have the purchase record described above deleted, email info@harsongroup.com.au from any address with the subject Harson Ballistics data deletion. Tell us roughly when you bought Pro and we will delete the record within 30 days and confirm by reply. Note that deleting it means the app can no longer restore Pro on a new phone without a new purchase; your Google Play purchase itself is governed by Google's policies and can be managed in your Play account.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because the only thing we hold is the anonymous purchase record above, the answer will usually be short. Contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app adds a feature that sends more data — for example fetching local weather for atmospheric conditions, or backing up your profiles to the cloud — we will update this policy and the Google Play data safety declaration before that version is released, and say clearly what is sent and to whom. Any such feature will be optional, and the calculator will continue to work fully offline without it.
Not professional advice
Harson Ballistics produces calculated firing solutions from the figures you enter. It is a calculation aid, not a substitute for your own judgement, safe firearm handling, or compliance with the laws that apply where you shoot. Always confirm your zero and your holds on a range before relying on them.
