Vortex VMR-3 MRAD

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Subtensions

SFP; the per-scope sheet: subtensions 'correspond to the highest magnification' - 15x. Rebuilt 9 Oct 2026 from the per-scope sheet, which overrides the VMR-3 MRAD reticle manual (M-00357) the old record came from (old: referenceMagnification 15.0, line 0.09, no centre dot). Published: illuminated centre dot 0.04; line 0.09; marks every .5 mil, .2 long at half mils and .4 at whole mils; side bars from 5 and the bottom bar from 9, .5 thick. Drawn, not published (the sheet is to scale on every other callout): marks to 4.5 each side and 8.5 below, centred on the line; a plain line above centre with no marks and no bar; the line runs through the centre. The red dot is drawn 0.125 across, oversized as on the other Viper HD sheets; the record carries the published 0.04. Bars drawn to 12 mil. Reticle image shown for representation only.

How this one was checked

Verified 9 Oct 2026 against specs/vortex/VTX_VPR-31503_VMR-3_MRAD_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf page 1 (re-downloaded from the source URL the same day, byte-identical). Scale 19.3272 pt/mil fitted to the side bars at 5, centre (198.0, 221.103) = the red dot; geometry converted exactly from the vector outlines. Every published callout is checked in tools/build_vortex_wave2.py and lands except one, recorded as published: 0.04 centre dot: published 0.04, drawn 0.1250. Checklist walked: rows and extents, hash spacing, numerals, centre element and gap, post tips, which side of the line each mark sits (all centred unless the notes say otherwise), every callout.
